Based at Dannevirke in the North Island of New Zealand, Scanpower’s longest standing business activity is electricity distribution. Our electricity network covers a geographic area of 2,100km² and utilises over 1000km of overhead and underground power lines, we are proud to have been supplying electricity to our region for over 85 years.
From the foundation of the electricity network business, Scanpower has expanded through the establishment of numerous other operating divisions and investment initiatives.

Scanpower currently employs over 80 staff directly, in addition to a broader network of contractors and staff in joint venture activities. The company is proud to be 100% owned by the Scanpower Customer Trust on behalf of all network customers in our region. Accordingly, the company maintains a very strong community focus.
