The New Zealand electricity industry is comprised of four main sectors; generation, transmission, distribution and electricity retailing.
Scanpower is an electricity distribution company. We own and operate a network of poles, conductors, cables and transformers that carry electricity from the National Grid to homes and businesses in our region.
We contract with, and charge, electricity retailers on an aggregated basis for distribution services in our region. Electricity retailers then pass these costs through to consumers via their own pricing structures.
